Weekend Hair Care
Thursday is my dedicated hair care day. I begin by oiling my hair in its dry state. If I shower after work, I allow my hair to dry completely before applying oil. Oiling wet hair can lead to hair loss because the hair roots are softer and more susceptible to damage when wet.
Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe!Whenever possible, I dry my hair on a cool setting with a hairdryer. However, I typically let my hair dry naturally since I oil it before bedtime, allowing ample time for drying.
For the oiling process, I first boil water in a pot. Then, I take a sufficient amount of oil (olive, almond, or coconut, depending on what’s available) in a small bowl. I place this bowl into another bowl filled with hot water. This warms the oil to a tolerable temperature, preventing it from becoming excessively hot.
While applying the warm oil with my fingertips, I feel a sense of relaxation and believe it stimulates blood circulation in my scalp. After oiling, I allow my scalp to rest for a while before tying up my hair.
The next day, before showering, I brush my hair to detangle it. Then, I shampoo my hair. After rinsing with plain water, I apply conditioner to the ends, leaving it on for two minutes before rinsing it out.
This routine helps keep my hair detangled, frizz-free, and this feeling lasts for about 2-4 days. Afterward, my hair starts to feel oily and dusty again.
By maintaining this weekend hair care regimen, I’ve noticed positive results and am happy with the condition of my hair.
Alternative Hot Oil Technique:
As an alternative to the hot oil process, especially when I’m short on time, I simply warm the oil by rubbing it between my palms before applying it to my hair. This is a convenient method for a quick hot oil treatment.
