A few days ago, I noticed that my face was looking dull. In my country, there is so much pollution that I can’t protect my skin from its effects. As I have to maintain my home and office, tiredness also affects me and makes my skin dull. At that moment, I realized I needed something that would energize my skin and provide antioxidants.
Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe! An instant solution came to mind. I drink coffee to energize myself whenever I feel sleepy; coffee is an instant solution for me. So, I can use it on my face to wake up my skin. Coffee is such a thing that can solve this problem. It also contains antioxidant properties and has anti-aging benefits. Antioxidants help to reduce oxidative stress and can prevent aging and certain diseases such as cancer.
Since I consume coffee internally, I can apply it externally to get the full benefit of it. Dullness steals brightness from my face as well. Therefore, I included coffee in my face wash routine instead of using a normal face wash.
Preparing a pump bottle:
Firstly, I prepare a bottle to store the face wash that I am going to make. I took an old empty pump bottle and washed it with lukewarm water and a little dishwashing liquid. After washing it with lukewarm water again, I rinsed it with plain water. Then, I kept it upside down to dry the inner side of the bottle. Afterward, I sanitized the bottle with a spray sanitizer and allowed it some time to dry.
Preparing coffee face wash:
After making it, I need to preserve it, so I use purified water. I boiled one glass of filtered water in a pot. When the water boiled, I poured it into a glass and added 2 tablespoons of coffee powder. I gave it a good mix. Since I prefer a foamy cleanser, I added 1 tablespoon of gentle face wash after the coffee water cooled down. Then, I poured it into a pump bottle.
Preservation:
After making this face wash, I preserve it in the refrigerator. Whenever I come home, I wash my face with it and keep it in the fridge again. I don’t keep it for over a week; I finish it within a week. As it is a homemade face wash, its shelf life is very limited. That’s why I don’t keep it for a long time. After a week, I make it again.
Application:
It’s a very liquid formula. After wetting my face, I take one pump in my palm and apply it directly to my face, gently cleaning it with this face wash. It doesn’t produce much foam because it’s a natural and homemade formula, so it is less foamy. To make it more foamy, add 1 or 2 more tablespoons of gentle face wash. Alternatively, sometimes use baby body wash instead.
I began using it regularly after coming home and noticed a difference from the first day. It instantly brightened my skin, and the brightness increased day by day. On holidays, I wash my face with this face wash twice a day, morning and evening, as a mild cleanser, since coffee benefits me both internally and externally.
I drink coffee without sugar to stay fit, and sometimes I make a cappuccino at home without sugar too. These drinks refresh me and give me the energy to carry on.
Precautions:
If you are using coffee externally for the first time, it’s necessary to do a patch test on your skin. If you experience itchiness or discomfort, discontinue use.
